In this role you will design, install and service the electronic systems that keep our clients' homes and businesses safe and connected — including CCTV, intruder and fire alarms, access control, intercom and low-voltage control systems. You will combine bench-level diagnostic skills with on-site installation work and customer-facing handovers.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, configure and commission CCTV, alarm, access control and intercom systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on electronic boards, controllers, sensors and networked devices.
  • Terminate and test low-voltage cabling (Cat6, coaxial, fibre patch leads) to industry standards.
  • Set up IP-based devices, recorders (NVR/DVR) and remote monitoring access for clients.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and firmware updates on installed systems.
  • Document installations with as-built drawings, test results and user handover guides.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients and field electricians.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures on customer sites and in the workshop.

  • Practical experience with CCTV, alarm or low-voltage electronic systems.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, switches, basic routing) for security devices.
  • Comfortable using multimeters, oscilloscopes and network testing tools.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Clean Class 1 driver's licence and the right to work in New Zealand.

Nice to have

  • Experience with brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, Paradox, Inner Range or Bosch.
