FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything Auckland homeowners and businesses ask us most often — pricing, compliance, after-hours callouts and how to get in touch.

General

Where in Auckland do you work?+

We service the entire Auckland region — from the North Shore down to Papakura, and from the eastern bays out to West Auckland. Travel to outlying areas can be arranged on request.

What are your business hours?+

Our office is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm. Genuine electrical emergencies are handled outside these hours by our on-call team.

Are you registered electricians in New Zealand?+

Yes. Every electrician on our team holds a current EWRB registration and practising licence. All work is completed to AS/NZS 3000 wiring standards and Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010.

Are you insured?+

Yes — we carry comprehensive public liability insurance. A certificate of currency can be provided on request before work commences.

Services & Pricing

Do you do residential work?+

Yes — from a single power point to a full rewire. We handle lighting, switchboard upgrades, EV charger circuits, smoke alarms and routine maintenance for homeowners across Auckland.

Do you do commercial and industrial electrical?+

Absolutely. We deliver fit-outs, three-phase upgrades, machine wiring, test & tag and scheduled maintenance for retail, hospitality, office and industrial clients — with minimum disruption to your operation.

How do you price jobs?+

Most defined jobs are priced on a fixed-price written quote after a free on-site assessment. Smaller fault-finding and maintenance work may be charged at our standard hourly rate, which we confirm before starting.

Is there a minimum call-out fee?+

Yes — a small minimum applies to cover travel and set-up. The exact fee depends on the location and time of day, and we'll always confirm it before booking.

Do you provide written quotes?+

Yes. For any job beyond a quick fix you'll receive an itemised written quote covering labour, materials and timing — no surprises on the invoice.

What payment methods do you accept?+

We accept bank transfer, debit and credit card. Account terms can be arranged for approved commercial clients.

Safety & Compliance

Will I get a Certificate of Compliance (CoC)?+

Yes. Where the work requires it, we issue a CoC (and an ESC where applicable) on completion. Keep these documents for your records — your insurer or buyer's solicitor may ask for them later.

Do you recommend RCD / safety switches?+

Strongly. RCDs (residual current devices) protect against electric shock and are required on most new circuits. We're happy to assess your switchboard and recommend upgrades.

What about smoke alarms?+

We install long-life photoelectric smoke alarms in line with NZ Building Code clause F7 and current rental property standards. We can advise on placement and interconnection.

Do you handle solar or EV chargers?+

Yes — we install dedicated EV charger circuits and integrate solar inverters and battery systems with your switchboard. All work is fully compliant and signed off.

Emergency & Callouts

Do you offer 24/7 emergency callouts?+

Yes — for genuine electrical emergencies (loss of power, burning smell, exposed live wiring, sparking switchboard) we have an on-call electrician available outside business hours.

How fast can someone get to me?+

Within Auckland we typically reach urban callouts within 60–90 minutes during business hours. After-hours response times depend on location and current callout volume.

What should I do while I wait?+

If it's safe to do so, switch off the affected circuit at the switchboard and unplug the relevant appliance. Do not touch any damaged wiring or water near electrical equipment. Keep clear and call us.

Careers

How do I apply for a role?+

Browse our open roles on the Careers page and use the on-page application form. You'll be able to attach your CV and we'll be in touch shortly after reviewing it.

Do you take on apprentices?+

We periodically take on apprentice electricians. Even when no role is listed, you're welcome to send your CV via the Careers page so we can keep you in mind.
