Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect personal information you share with us.

Last updated: May 2026

1. Who we are

King's Field Sparky ("we", "us", "our") is an Auckland-based electrical and electronic services company. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

2. What we collect

  • Website enquiries: name, email, phone and the message you send us.
  • Job applications: name, contact details, location, work eligibility, work history, qualifications, skills, references and your CV.
  • Service jobs: site address, billing details and any information needed to complete the work.
  • Technical data: basic, anonymous information your browser sends (e.g. page visited, device type) when you use our website.

3. Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry, quote or service request.
  • To assess job applications and contact suitable candidates.
  • To deliver and invoice for the work you have asked us to do.
  • To meet our legal, tax and electrical-compliance obligations.
  • To improve our website and services.

4. How we store it

Information you submit through our website is stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by our hosting partner. Uploaded CVs are held in a private storage bucket that is not publicly accessible. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, but no internet transmission is 100% secure — please do not send us sensitive information you would not share by ordinary email.

5. Who can see it

Only authorised members of the King's Field Sparky team access your information. We do not sell or trade personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers (e.g. accounting, IT, electrical compliance bodies) where necessary to run our business or where required by law.

6. How long we keep it

  • Job applications: up to 12 months from submission, then deleted unless you join the team.
  • Service records: for as long as required by NZ tax and electrical-compliance law (typically 7 years).
  • General enquiries: up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

7. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us at any time to:

  • confirm what personal information we hold about you,
  • access a copy of that information,
  • correct anything that is wrong, or
  • delete your information (where we are not legally required to keep it).

Get in touch via the Contact page and we will respond within 20 working days.

8. Cookies

Our website uses only the minimal cookies needed to make pages work. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will always show the current version.

10. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
